
Caleb Bronz was born and raised in northern Vermont, USA. He began playing at age 10 and at 12 began studying privately. In high school, Caleb pursued any musical opportunity he could find. He studied music and audio engineering at Johnson State and earned a BA in 1999. Since then he has continued to play with as many groups and artists as possible, including Mighty Sam McClain, The Gordon Stone Band, Smokin' Grass, The Gregory Douglass Band, The Vermont Jazz Ensemble, Voice, Jazzmosis, and several other jazz groups in addition to many freelance performances and recording sessions. He's been a part of groups that play reggae, jazz, hip-hop, rock, pop, drum&bass, bluegrass, free jazz and more, from fully arranged to completely improvisational. Caleb has recorded for artists such as Elizabeth Von Trapp and projects such as CMH Record's nationally-distributed album, "Pickin' On Jack Johnson". He played on the new record by Jim Hill and the Longhaulers as well as Grammy nominee and Handy Blues Award winner Mighty Sam McClain's latest record, "Betcha Didn't Know".
On recent tours with Mighty Sam McClain, Caleb has performed in many countries in Europe as well as Russia and Turkey. While working with banjo/pedal-steel guitar great Gordon Stone, and bluegrass band Smokin' Grass he toured domestically. Caleb founded the hip-hop/drum&bass group Voice, and was the drummer and producer for the group's debut CD, "Prime". As an educator, Caleb teaches privately and with such programs as Vermont Rock Camp. Caleb endorses GMS drums and Trueline drumsticks.
